Experience an authentic cultural tour of Todos Santos, the art capital of our state, guided by the director of the Intercultural Museum of Baja California Sur, a specialist in the art and culture of South California.
Experience a deep insight into the artistic and cultural scene of our magical town. You will meet in person some of the most representative local artists while learning about the cultural activities of our town, so that even if you come for just one day, it will feel like it has been a month.
START
We will meet in the central square of Todos Santos, in front of the local theater. There we will begin our experience with a trip into the past by entering the cultural center museum and learning about the deeper intercultural history of Todos Santos.
Immediately after, you will meet in person some of the most representative artists of our magical town who give face and heart to the expressions of our people.
After receiving all the inspiration on our tour, we will go to our art studio at the Intercultural Museum where we will create a work of art with Todosanteno clay and we will share with you the knowledge and techniques of the expression of the worldview of the South Californian culture.
One of the most outstanding features of this experience is that as a native artist, and director of the Intercultural Museum, I participate in many of our cultural and artistic activities, so I am in contact with most of the culture, art and folklore of our region, which gives me the specialty of providing you with more extensive and personalized information, based on the diverse and deep knowledge I have of our magical town. Greetings, my friend! Allow me to introduce myself: I am Maximilian, a proud Mexican artist and director of the Intercultural Museum of BCS, i was born in the vibrant city of La Paz. With my artistic foundation built at the prestigious Fine Art Institute in Mexico City—the best in the country—I've spent years immersed in the world of creativity, community, and culture.
Here in Baja California Sur, I've carved my path as both an artist collaborating with most of the festivals and cultural events that celebrate the very essence of our region. Whether as an organizer or exhibitor, my passion lies in showcasing the authentic spirit of this magical corner of Mexico.
Over the years, I've formed deep connections with local artists, organizers and cultural agents, allowing me to offer you an immersive and unforgettable journey. From the ancient traditions to our modern expressions, I'll guide you through the soul of our culture. You'll uncover hidden wonders, taste authentic flavors, and feel the creative pulse that makes Baja California Sur so extraordinary.

Maxmilian was an excellent host. We had a wonderful day learning about the history of Todos Santos. He wove a beautiful story throughout the day that ranged from the 19th century to modern art in a variety of modalities. He is well connected in the area with all the local artist.

The tour completely exceeded my expectations. I had anticipated a general overview type of experience, but we had a truly magical adventure that is hard to capture with words because it's more of a feeling. Walking around the streets of Todos Santos gave us a foundation regarding the layout of the city. Becoming acquainted in such a manner enabled us to feel very comfortable navigating this environment on our own. We learned so much about the history, architecture, and art of various mediums, explained in such a manner that even my 10-year-old remained attentive. The information was conveyed with genuine ease. Although we had an itinerary with designated points of interest, there was no "agenda." I'm not sure how we covered so many topics and walked to so many places yet never felt rushed or lectured to, but this was indeed the case. Max, our tour guide, conveyed his passion for art with such a genuine natural manner. He answered our questions and offered insightful explanations that really gave a depth I wasn't expecting. This was not a generic, robotic type of tour. As he introduced us to other artists and their works, my son was provided with an example of how life does not always need to be a competition, and that the appreciation of other people's talents never diminishes your own. It was such a comfortable experience, and Max's energy made me feel like I had always known him. It's not because he did anything in particular, but more of what he didn't do. Nothing felt canned or forced. I didn't fully appreciate the magic until it was all over. The magic is the feeling one is left with after everything seems to just come together. It's an appreciation for the history of Todos Santos mixed together with a story about art, artists, community, music, and so much more. It would be quite a beautiful mural (another topic we learned about today). This was just a truly lovely experience and a very well-spent 3+ hours. This review doesn't even do it justice.

Maximillian was the most amazing local artist guide! We learned so many things about the art, culture and people of Todos Santos. It felt like a real authentic experience versus a canned tour you would get elsewhere. He tailored the tour specifically for us and we even got to hear him play his own handmade beautiful clay flutes at his studio. And the sculpting portion of the tour was a wonderful way to tie in all of the inspiration we had from the first part of the tour. We will cherish the art pieces we made all day long. We cannot recommend him enough!! Don't miss it!
